I saw the availability of apps via Cydia and the many repositories and they just don’t seem to have the apps I want.

Of course I can jailbreak for other reasons such as using unaccepted apps and extremely minute customization, but in the process I will be having unacceptable performance and instability.

Seems I won’t be jailbreaking my iPhone anytime soon.

They come in both Active Grade (high pitched - perfect for loud environments) and Meeting Grade (subtle - perfect for meetings). I’m leaning towards Origins but Zen 2 is also kinda cool. Computers and Windows 7 only include mutitouch because the iPhone is popular and stupid marketing departments are trying to push that as a feature on the naive public when its utterly useless.

Face facts Adobe, your “RIA platform” is in reality just a codec for looking at videos of funny dogs on YouTube, thats what 80% of people use it for, thats what you should focus on making actually work on all platforms. If you don’t someday HTML 5 video will be everywhere and Flash will be nowhere and you’ll be looking around wondering what the fuck went wrong.

Totally unbelievable how a bunch of IT peeps can decide on acquiring software and services.

Everyone knows how the initial buy-in is done. Software firms drop 80% to get in and recoup the income in the next 5 years via 16-25% in annual maintenance/support renewals.

Product offerings can change, the economic climate affecting the US Dollar can also change. Heck a lot of things can change!

It just strikes me as people who are making buying decisions on software to help them make better decisions do not know how to properly decide.

Personally, that’s hundreds of thousands in pesos in bonuses lost if this deal doesn’t go down.

PC Users Secretly Want to Jump Ship and Use a Mac Instead

In almost every business meeting I’m in, everybody notices that I uses a Mac.

The surprising part is that in any major discussion, some guy has to always cut the conversation short by saying how Macs are the best machines to run Vista (read through Lifehacker) or ask what virtualization software I use (probably researching to move to a Mac). They know about Parallels Desktop and VMWare Fusion. They ask about Boot Camp.

They all want to jump on board. They’re tired of their corporate machines running XP.

I’ve converted one and that was a Banco De Oro IT manager. He’s happily using the first generation 17” Unibody MacBook Pro.

Every single company I meet there is a person on the edge of switching to the Mac. They just need to see an IT guy - who just like them - can happily use a Mac that still plays well with all the PCs out there. Someone who has an ‘enterprise view’ who can advice them and tips.

More converts? You betcha.

That said, I’m heading off to Bacolod as early as the 11th of December and will be back on the 11th of the January the following year.

I’m creating version 3 of my family’s hotel website and I had to bring up the fact that one of the well-known photography outfits in Bacolod City doesn’t have a method for snapping photos. The lack of photos forced me to reuse old ones which of course did not look all that well with the new ones. They also look dated - really dated.

What I need is photographers who can think. They need to have a system for taking pictures of an establishment such as a hotel. For example:

1. Lights On & Lights Off
2. Daylight In & Daylight Out
3. 2-3 Angles per Room/Suite
4. With People & Without People
5. Day Shots & Night Shots
6. Room Shades Open/Closed
7. Different Room Amenities Visible/Not Shown
8. Close up/From Afar
9. Different Exposures
10. Time of Day (Dawn, Noon, Dusk, Midnight)

All these options can create an good number of variations too choose from instead of limiting the photos that can be used for the website.

I can understand that the recent ones were all night shots because it would be easier to shoot in the night. But it doesn’t change the fact that they don’t have a system for taking photos.
