My Own Web Analytics

Today is the day I’m assigned to do web analytics. It’s akin to Google Analytics.

My plan of action:

1. Install Piwik. It’s an open source web analytics suite made with PHP. However, I’m only going to use the javascript code supplied and the server to capture user data. I won’t be using their analytical front end.

2. Hook the javascript to some website and start gathering user data.

3. Make my own web analytics software using the data generated.
