How to get out of Ning

What the hell are these guys thinking?! Why can’t I just press one button to get out?

Look at this procedure. It’s so mundane and a big hassle. If people want out, make it as easy to get out as it is to get in.

You recently asked us to deactivate your account on Ning. We’re happy to deactivate your account, but to protect your privacy we’re not able to delete your content from Ning. To delete your content, please take the following steps before we deactivate your account:

1) Sign in to http://www.ning.com.
2) Click on the “Settings” link at the top of the page.
3) From the menu on the left, click “Social Networks.”
4) For each social network you’d like to remove yourself from, click “Leave” below “On this social network.”
5) Confirm that you’d like to leave this social network and delete all your content by entering your password. Repeat this process for all the social networks you’d like to leave.
6) If you’ve created any social networks, click “Delete” below “On this social network” and confirm that you’d like to delete your social network by entering your password. Repeat this process for all the social networks you’ve created.

Once you have removed all of your content, please reply to this email and we’ll go ahead and deactivate your account. We won’t deactivate your account until we receive your reply.

If you don’t actually want your account deactivated, please do not reply to this message. If you have any other questions or issues you’d like us to help you with, return to the Ning Help Center at http://help.ning.com and submit a new ticket, choosing the category that best matches your issue.
